Head of Product and UX

Role Overview

We are looking for a Head of Product and UX to join our mission to empower humanity with freedom technologies. At Fedi, we aren’t just building an app; we are building a new paradigm for financial and data sovereignty.

In this role, you will be more than a coordinator; you will be a strategic partner to the CEO. We operate at the cutting edge of “freedom tech,” which means the path forward isn’t always paved. We need a leader who thrives in high-ambiguity environments—someone who can take incomplete information, drive clear decisions, and move the team forward with conviction. You will bring a disciplined product craft and the gravitas to lead cross-functional teams through complex challenges, ensuring we stay focused on our mission to accelerate the global adoption of bitcoin.

Responsibilities

• Product Vision: Drive the product vision, strategy, development, and execution across product lines.
• Roadmap & Requirements Ownership: Define and manage product roadmaps while gathering requirements based on market trends, customer needs, and our corporate vision and philosophy.
• Strategic Influence: Challenge assumptions and provide the clarity needed to turn ambitious ideas into a concrete product vision and strategy.
• Driving Decisions: Serve as the driving force behind product decisions. In the face of uncertainty, you are expected to analyze trade-offs, build a case for a specific direction, and lead the team through execution with conviction. This includes creating alignment even when stakeholders have diverging views.
• User Experience Stewardship: Ensure product decisions translate into clear, trustworthy, and usable experiences.
• Execution Excellence: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle and ensure we ship high-quality products.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the Bitcoin industry (Lightning, Nostr, AI). Represent Fedi in open-source discussions to ensure our products remain at the forefront of the industry.
• Process Evolution: Proactively refine internal systems and product workflows to improve how our globally distributed team operates, raising the bar for product discipline across the company.

Requirements

• Proven Decision-Maker: 4+ years of product management experience, with a clear track record of driving decisions in “0-to-1” or rapidly changing environments. You are comfortable being the final word on product direction.
• Navigating Ambiguity: You have a demonstrated ability to create order out of chaos. You don’t wait for a perfect brief; you gather what you need and set the pace for the rest of the team.
• UX Judgment: You have a demonstrated ability to reason about user experience, simplify complex systems, and make principled usability trade-offs without compromising sovereignty or security.
• Gravitas & Presence: Exceptional communication skills. You are a clear and confident communicator who inspires those around you. You have the poise to advise senior executives and the empathy to motivate execution teams.
• Technical Sovereignty: A sophisticated understanding of how Bitcoin works (nodes, wallets, Lightning Network) and the ability to navigate technical trade-offs within the Fedimint protocol.
• Global Mindset: Ability to work across US/LATAM or European/African time zones. Proficiency in English is required; French or Spanish is a major plus.
• Mission Alignment: A deep passion for decentralization and a genuine desire to empower global communities through freedom technologies.
