## Company Description **Aetherum** (aetherum.ai) is building B2B crypto-collateralized lending infrastructure purpose-built for NCUA-regulated U.S. credit unions. We give credit unions the tools to offer crypto-backed loans to their members — with AI-powered underwriting, on-chain compliance, and institutional-grade custody architecture that keeps assets in the credit union's direct control. 5 patents pending. Live platform. Active partnerships. We're solving a problem no one else is built to solve. ## Role Description This is a foundational **Senior Engineer** role based in the San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid). You won't be joining a large team — you'll be the engineer who helps take Aetherum to its production-ready MVP deployment. That means owning real architecture decisions, working directly with the founder, and building on a live platform with paying infrastructure partners already in place. ## What You'll Own - **NestJS/TypeScript backend and React frontend** (you're extending, not starting) - **On-chain compliance architecture** (ERC-3643, Solidity, Sepolia → mainnet path) - **Crypto collateral architecture** across multiple asset types including XRP and stablecoins — with custody rails that keep assets in the credit union's direct control - **AI-powered underwriting pipeline** (Python microservices) - **Infrastructure decisions** you'll defend to regulators and investors ## The IP You'll Be Building On 5 patents pending across the core of what makes Aetherum defensible: 1. **DACS™** — proprietary risk assessment model scoring crypto-collateralized loan eligibility across 10 pillars, purpose-built for NCUA-regulated environments 2. **FHE-DACS** — Fully Homomorphic Encryption layer enabling privacy-preserving risk scoring without exposing member financial data 3. **DACS-Driven Dynamic LTV** — on-chain enforcement of per-member loan-to-value ceilings derived from DACS scores, written to the blockchain at origination 4. **ERC-3643 CUMember On-Chain Identity** — compliance module tying credit union membership, jurisdiction, and KYC status to an on-chain identity standard built for institutional lending 5. **TPSOE/DACS Methodology** — the underlying scoring and optimization engine This isn't a crypto app with a compliance checkbox. The compliance architecture is the product — and you'll be the engineer who extends and defends it. ## Qualifications - 7+ years full-stack engineering, with at least 2 in Web3/blockchain - Proficiency in TypeScript, NestJS, React, Python, and Solidity - Experience shipping in regulated fintech, crypto infrastructure, or B2B SaaS - Familiarity with MongoDB, Redis, and API-first architecture - Strong understanding of on-chain identity, compliance modules, and smart contract security - The kind of engineer who asks "why" before writing a line of code - Remote / Based in the San Francisco Bay Area ## What This Is This is an early-stage, equity-heavy role. If you want a big salary and zero ambiguity, this isn't it. If you want to own the technical direction of a company solving a real problem in a space no one has cracked yet — let's talk. www.aetherum.ai 📩 **Apply:** AetherumDev@aetherum.ai *When applying, mention the word **CANDYSHOP** to show you read the job post completely.*

## About Commons Lab **Funding the Commons** is incubating **Commons Lab**, a newly formed venture incubator building at the intersection of AI and coordination infrastructure. This role is for Commons Lab directly and is being shared via Funding the Commons because that's where our network and community live. Commons Lab works with institutional partners including Protocol Labs and UNDP's Alt Fin Lab, and backs founders building the systems that govern how value flows in the intelligent economy: programmable funding, privacy-preserving identity, agent-native coordination, and financial infrastructure for emerging markets. Learn more at [commonslab.ai/stack](https://commonslab.ai/stack). Our founder pipeline flows from Funding the Commons—a 25,000+ person community, 13 conferences across 4 continents, and 3 builder residencies—into intensive post-residency incubation, with follow-on capital for top performers. We're hiring a founding leader to own incubation. This is one of the earliest and highest-leverage seats in the company: a role for someone who can combine technical judgment, founder empathy, operational design, and AI-native execution. **Compensation:** ~$180K base plus significant founding-team equity in Commons Lab. **Location:** SF preferred. International travel required for residencies including Kenya and future locations. ## What You'll Own * **Founder selection:** Build the evaluation frameworks, scoring systems, and workflows that determine who we back. Your AI market judgment should distinguish genuine technical edge from products that will be commoditized by the next model cycle. * **Builder residencies:** Run intensive residencies with partners like UNDP and BNB Chain. Design curriculum, pair builders with mentors, structure sprint reviews, run demo days, and ensure cohorts produce deployable outputs and real pilots. * **Product-market fit:** Help founders move from prototype to product. Scope MVPs, cut unnecessary features, sharpen user value, find pilot partners, and get teams shipping against real timelines. * **The internal operating system:** Build the infrastructure behind incubation — pipeline automation, builder tracking, institutional reporting, knowledge management, and decision workflows. We expect you to build these systems yourself using tools like Claude, Cursor, and modern agent frameworks. ## Who You Are * **Deep AI market expertise.** You track model capabilities, agent architectures, and infrastructure shifts closely. You know what just became possible, what is about to become possible, and what remains genuinely hard. * **AI-native builder.** You use tools like Claude, Cursor, and modern development frameworks to build working systems quickly. * **Founder empathy.** You've been a founder yourself, or worked closely enough with early-stage founders to understand what actually helps. * **Product instinct.** You've helped early-stage teams find product-market fit. You know how to pressure-test scope, user value, sequencing, and speed. * **High trust, high candor.** You can mentor a first-time founder in Nairobi and present to a UNDP programme team in the same week. ## Strongly Preferred * Expertise in programmable funding, privacy/identity, distribution infrastructure, or agent-native coordination. * Blockchain/crypto literacy. * Experience with institutional partners such as UN agencies, foundations, or governments. ## How to Apply Apply at: [https://commonslab.ai/join](https://commonslab.ai/join) *When applying, mention the word CANDYSHOP to show you read the job post completely.*

## Senior Business Development / Origination Role (Institutional Lending Platform) Referment is partnering with a fast-growing, institutional lending platform operating at the intersection of traditional finance and digital assets. This is a standout opportunity for a senior business development professional to play a pivotal role in scaling an institutional platform during a key phase of growth. This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role for a "hunter" who is deeply embedded in the New York institutional finance ecosystem and thrives on relationship-led origination and deal sourcing. ### The Opportunity This is not a retail, high-volume, or inbound sales role. It is not a strategy, operations, or advisory position. This is a pure new business origination role focused on finding borrowers who need capital and structuring lending deals with them. - You will act as the primary external face of the platform in New York, embedded in the institutional community, attending industry events, meeting senior decision-makers, and originating new borrower relationships. - You'll own the full lifecycle of business development, working on fewer, larger, more complex transactions with typical deal sizes of $25m-$100m+. - This is a hands-on role for a dedicated individual contributor who wants to drive deal flow personally rather than managing a team. ### What You'll Be Doing - Originating new institutional borrower relationships across hedge funds, trading firms, prime brokerage, asset managers, banks, credit funds, and family offices. - Owning the end-to-end business development process: sourcing, progressing, structuring lending conversations, and closing. - Acting as a senior relationship manager to borrowers post-close. - Representing the platform at industry events, conferences, and in-market meetings. - Collaborating closely with credit, capital markets, and leadership teams. - Feeding real-time market insight back into product and growth strategy. ### What We're Looking For - 5+ years' experience in institutional business development, relationship management, or capital markets, specifically in a hands-on origination or loan coverage role. - Direct experience in institutional lending, credit, or structured finance (e.g., securitization, corporate lending, warehouse facilities) is essential. This role requires a focus on finding borrowers and structuring deals, rather than fund distribution or capital raising from LPs. - Currently working at a blockchain, DeFi, or crypto-native firm in an institutional capacity. This is essential, as candidates must bridge TradFi and crypto. - A professional background in traditional finance (TradFi), with experience in structured finance at a top-tier investment bank being highly regarded. - Well-networked in the NYC institutional finance community, with a proven track record of personally originating and closing large-ticket, low-volume transactions. - Experience engaging with BTC miners or BTC treasury firms is a significant plus. - Based in New York City or the immediate surrounding area (e.g., New Jersey) to facilitate frequent in-person meetings and community engagement. ### What Is The Ideal Experience - Currently working at a crypto-native firm (e.g., exchange, lending platform, DeFi protocol) in an institutional sales or BD capacity, with a prior background in traditional finance lending or structured products. Someone who can speak fluently to both TradFi and crypto counterparties. This role is not a fit if: 1.
