Overview

Elite tax planning doesn't scale. The best advisors in the world can serve ~50-100 households. We're fixing that by turning tax logic into code.

We're not looking for a CPA to manage a traditional book of business. We're looking for a product architect for AI agents that deliver 99th percentile tax planning to millions of Americans at Frame.

You'll still file tax returns. You'll still work with real clients. But your real job is sitting with engineers, breaking down the messy logic in your head — ISO exercises, AMT crossover points, QSBS stacking, Roth conversions — into decision trees that actually work.

When we're done, the tax planning advice we'll provide won't just be static advice delivered once a quarter. It will execute, perform, and action personalized advice to each customer in a way that is simply not possible with legacy tax planning.

We're building at Frame (inside CoinTracker, $100M raised, partners include Coinbase, TurboTax, H&R Block, Thomson Reuters) to serve the millions of Americans stuck in the gap: too wealthy for TurboTax, not wealthy enough for a specialized tax firm.

Frame is an independent product incubated within the same parent company as CoinTracker, with the autonomy of an early-stage startup and the backing of a proven industry-leading crypto tax and accounting platform.

Your mission

Give everyone access to tax advice for the 1%.

Your one-year outcomes

1. 400 customers with NPS 70+
2. AI agent independently handles 80% of tax planning questions without human intervention
3. Zero critical hallucinations (inaccurate tax advice or filing errors)

What you will do

• Interface with Clients: Proactive tax insights and white-glove experience
• Prepare, review, and file tax returns for households (starting with those in $1M – $25M net worth) plus related business returns
• Architect the Tax Brain: break down complex tax decisions into logic trees that engineers can code
• Train AI: review AI advice, correct logic, write system instructions to prevent hallucinations
• Solve Edge Cases: AMT crossover, wash sales, multi-state allocation, QSBS, pass-through optimization

What we look for

Role-agnostic

• Impact: Demonstrated ability to drive outsized business impact
• Mission alignment: Hungry and motivated about giving everyone access to world-class financial planning through AI

• Communication: Able to clearly talk about the details and also zoom out to the bigger picture

Role-specific

• Active CPA license for 5+ years
• 500+ individual (1040) returns prepared, reviewed, and/or filed
• Experience serving clients with $1M – $25M net worth
• Working knowledge of business returns (S-corps, partnerships, Schedule C)
• Logic-driven, tech-forward, low ego, high agency

This role is not a fit if

• You want to stay at a large firm and specialize in one area
• You prefer stability over ambiguity and fast iteration
• You see AI as a threat rather than a 10x tool

Small team. High trust. Minimal process. We work with Notion, Slack, and Google Meet. We ship fast and talk to customers daily.

The starting salary for this position is between $138,000 - $194,000 + meaningful equity in a venture-backed company at the ground floor. This isn't designed to compete with traditional CPA compensation. The trade: less cash now for potentially life-changing equity upside later.
