## About Veda Veda is the infrastructure layer for the next generation of asset management. We are bridging the gap between institutional capital and decentralized finance by providing a secure, scalable, and intuitive platform for on-chain strategies. Having grown from 10 to 60+ institutional customers in record time, we are now at a critical inflection point: moving from an early-stage MVP to a robust, institutional-grade platform. ## The Role We are hiring a **Finance Lead** to own Veda’s end-to-end financial operations layer, spanning fiat, digital assets, and DeFi protocols. This is a high-leverage, build-heavy role responsible for: - Designing operational systems from first principles - Owning on-chain + off-chain reconciliation integrity - Managing treasury flows across wallets, exchanges, and bank accounts - Embedding risk controls into financial infrastructure ## Responsibilities ### 1. Core Financial Operations - Own end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including: - Vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and payment execution (fiat and crypto) - Customer invoicing, collections, and revenue tracking - Crypto-denominated invoice valuation and settlement - Manage payment cycles across: - Traditional rails (ACH, wire, bill pay) - On-chain payments (stablecoin, native token) - Maintain vendor and contractor records, ensuring W-9/W-8 compliance and 1099 readiness - Own expense management and approval workflows across departments - Coordinate with external accountants and auditors on transactional data and supporting documentation - Enforce AP/AR policies including approval thresholds, payment terms, and escalation procedures ### 2. Financial Integrity & Reconciliation (Fiat + On-Chain) - Own full-stack reconciliation across: - Bank accounts, custodians, and payment processors - Hot / warm / cold wallets - Build and maintain **real-time reconciliation frameworks** across: - Internal ledgers - Blockchain data (node / API / indexers) ### 3. Treasury & Liquidity Operations (Crypto-Native) - Own capital movement across: - Fiat rails (ACH, wires, FX) and offramps - On-chain transfers (multi-chain, gas optimization, bridging) - Develop a treasury management strategy - Partner with leadership on **capital efficiency and deployment strategy** ### 4. Systems Architecture & Automation - Design and implement: - Scalable financial operations infrastructure - Transaction lifecycle tracking systems (fiat ↔ crypto ↔ DeFi) - Work with Engineering to: - Automate reconciliation, reporting, and alerting - Evaluate and deploy: - Crypto accounting tools - Wallet infrastructure (MPC, multisig) - Treasury management systems ### 5. Reporting, Controls & Audit Readiness - Own operational inputs into: - Month-end close - Digital asset accounting and valuation - Build **audit-grade financial records** across: - wallets, bank accounts, and exchanges - Implement internal controls aligned with: - Institutional standards (SOX-inspired, where applicable) - Regulatory expectations (e.g., NYDFS) ### 6. Cross-Functional Leadership - Act as the **bridge between Finance, Engineering, Product, and Compliance** - Translate blockchain activity into **financial and operational insights** - Help define Veda’s **financial infrastructure roadmap** ## You Have - 6–10+ years in financial operations, treasury, or accounting within: - Crypto, DeFi, fintech, or institutional finance - Need to have crypto accounting experience - Auditor experience is a plus - Deep understanding of: - Blockchain mechanics (transactions, gas, confirmations, re-orgs) - Wallet architecture (custodial vs non-custodial, multisig, MPC) - DeFi primitives (AMMs, lending protocols, staking, derivatives) - Proven experience building: - Reconciliation systems across fragmented data environments - Operational processes in ambiguous, high-growth settings - Strong analytical toolkit: - Advanced Excel / Sheets - AI financial tools - SQL - Demonstrated ownership of **mission-critical financial processes** ## Even better if you have - Experience with: - On-chain analytics tools (e.g., Dune, Nansen, Flipside) - Crypto accounting platforms (e.g., Tres Finance, Bitwave, Ledgible, TaxBit) - ERP (Quickbooks) - Exposure to: - Institutional custody solutions - CPA or strong accounting foundation - Prior experience in a **regulated crypto environment (NYDFS / BitLicense)** ## What You’ll Bring - **Builder mindset**: you design systems, not just operate them - Strong **risk intuition** in both traditional finance and DeFi contexts - Ability to operate with **precision under uncertainty** - High ownership, low ego, and a bias toward action - Comfort going deep technically while maintaining financial accuracy ## Why This Role Matters At Veda, financial operations is not a support function—it is **core infrastructure**.
