Bitwave is a rapidly expanding startup that specializes in software for businesses that use digital assets and crypto. Our platform provides the CFO stack to web 3 native companies, including cryptocurrency accounting, tax tracking, bookkeeping, digital asset treasury management, crypto AR / AP tooling, and full DeFi support (lending pools, liquidity pools, NFTs, etc.).

The Role

We’re looking to hire a world-class Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to bridge the gap between our customers and our engineering team. This is a great opportunity for a candidate with a mix of a CPA and Engineering background. The goal of this role is to help solve our customers' unique challenges by building, customizing, and deploying solutions that meet their specific needs. This role is an opportunity for a candidate to contribute to building software that solves real-world problems by combining their exceptional technical skills and their ability to communicate, collaborate, and understand business challenges.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to understand their specific problems and needs and translate customer needs into product features, prototypes, and integrations.
• Actively build, configure, and deploy solutions, which can include writing code and optimizing models that address customers’ needs.
• Act as a liaison between the customer's point of contact and the company's core engineering team, translating business challenges into technical solutions and providing feedback to influence the product roadmap. Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers.
• Lead the incubation of new products, from ideation to deployment, including working closely with product managers and engineers to bring innovative ideas to life and ensure successful product launches.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions for real-world problems through rapid prototyping and iterative development to validate and refine solutions.
• Manage the scope of work and sequence of delivery, balancing the needs between scope, speed, and quality, while simultaneously removing blockers.
• Provide insight into building and adjusting the technical roadmap and architectural decisions as we grow.
• Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from end-users to senior management, and maintain a high level of trust through open communication and transparency in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Preference for an individual with experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• 3+ years of programming experience.
• Demonstrated ability to interact with customers and build successful relationships.
• Experience in JavaScript, SQL, Python, Web3, and dapps is a plus.
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Expertise in ETL tools, data extraction, storage, and transformation.
• Strong experience working in an Agile environment and understanding of SCRUM process, CI/CD, and GCP.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in digital assets, decentralized finance, and cryptocurrencies.
