What We Do

The Solana Foundation Trading team is a newly formed group focused on onboarding professional traders from other crypto ecosystems and traditional finance onto Solana. We are building the APIs, infrastructure and relationships that make Solana the best venue for trading. We’re building real-time data feeds, optimized execution pipelines, liquidity programs and hands-on integration support to make it as easy as possible for traders to run their strategies. We sit at the intersection of deep protocol infrastructure and trader-facing product work, making the complexity of Solana accessible to teams accustomed to centralized exchange venues.

The Opportunity

Solana Foundation is seeking a Trading Engineer to join our Trading team. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in Solana's transaction lifecycle with the communication skills and initiative to work directly with traders, market makers and HFT firms. You will help build and support the APIs, data infrastructure and onboarding processes that bring professional trading volume to Solana. You'll be joining a small, high-impact team expected to grow significantly in both size and scope.

To be successful in this role

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and improve trading APIs that surface realtime and historical price data across Solana venues (perps, AMMs, CLOBs, Props) in formats familiar to traders
• Build tools pertaining to transaction execution pipelines and transaction landing (Jito, Harmonic, Direct TPU, etc)
• Build and maintain proactive monitoring tools for transaction landing rates, shred delays, RPC errors and trader health
• Support infrastructure operations including co-located nodes, data warehouses and analytics for network and venue behavior monitoring
• Create technical documentation, guides and research content that demystifies the market structure of Solana for traders coming from centralized exchange venues and traditional finance
• Research and prototype improvements to execution quality including FBAs, streaming, shred distribution and more

Desired Background

• 5+ years of experience in a technical role involving trading systems, market infrastructure, or protocol engineering
• Strong understanding of transaction lifecycles, latency optimization, and execution quality in either crypto or traditional markets
• Familiarity with data APIs, real-time feeds and streaming protocols like gRPC and websockets
• Built ETL pipelines and realtime data feeds with high levels of accuracy and uptime

Bonus Points:

• Experience working with blockchain and blockchain-based tooling (Solana experience preferred but not required)
