## **BITCOIN CULTURE HUB** **House of Naka | Media Division** ### **Social Media Manager** **Remote | 15 hours/week | Unpaid | Bitcoin-Only Organization** ### **About Us** Bitcoin Culture Hub is the cultural operating system for Bitcoin. We build community platforms, marketplaces, and media projects that serve the Bitcoin ecosystem. If it touches Bitcoin culture, we are probably working on it. House of Naka is our media arm. We produce shows, manage content across multiple brands and client accounts, run the annual Proof of Work Awards, and handle all social output for BCH and a growing roster of external Bitcoin organizations. The media side of this company is scaling quickly and we need someone who can be our voice across all of it. ### **The Role** We have systems that handle content creation and scheduling. What we do not have is a person who lives in the accounts every day, engaging with the community, jumping into conversations, and making sure our presence actually feels alive. That is this role. You will manage social media across multiple accounts: BCH's own channels, House of Naka's show accounts, and our clients' accounts. For each one, you need to know the audience, match the voice, and show up consistently. That means replying to comments, quote tweeting relevant conversations, engaging with other creators and thought leaders in the Bitcoin space, and keeping the community active between posts. Bitcoin Twitter is its own ecosystem. The people who thrive in this role already spend time there. They know who the voices are, what conversations are happening, what gets engagement and what falls flat. If you have to Google "Bitcoin Twitter" to understand what we mean, this is probably not the right fit. You are not a content factory. You are the human layer that makes our accounts feel like they belong to real people who actually care about Bitcoin. The difference between an account that posts and an account that people follow is engagement, and that is your entire job. You report to the Head of Business Development, with oversight from the CTO and Founder. ### **A Typical Week Might Look Like** - Going through each account daily: replying to comments, responding to DMs, engaging with tagged posts and mentions - Jumping into trending Bitcoin conversations with takes that are on-brand and actually add something - Building relationships with other Bitcoin accounts, creators, and community figures through genuine interaction - Monitoring what is working (and what is not) across accounts and flagging patterns to the team - Writing original posts when the moment calls for it: something is happening in Bitcoin and we need to say something now, not next Tuesday - Coordinating with the automation side of the team to make sure scheduled content aligns with what is actually happening in the community - Tracking follower growth, engagement rates, and community sentiment across all accounts and reporting back weekly ### **Required Skills** - **Native to Bitcoin Twitter:** You already spend time here. You know the culture, the humor, the discourse, the people. This is not something we can teach you in onboarding. - **Strong written voice:** You can write posts that sound like a person, not a brand. You know how to be direct without being abrasive, and interesting without trying too hard. - **Multi-account fluency:** You can switch between brand voices without mixing them up. What works for a debate show account is different from what works for an industry organization, and you get that instinctively. - **Community engagement instincts:** You know when to reply, when to quote tweet, when to start a thread, and when to stay quiet. Engagement is not just volume. It is judgment. - **Speed and consistency:** Bitcoin does not wait for your content calendar. When something is happening, you are there. And when nothing is happening, you are still showing up. - **Bitcoin conviction:** This is a Bitcoin-only organization. We do not touch altcoins, DeFi, NFTs, or anything "crypto." If that distinction matters to you, you will fit in here. ### **Nice to Have** - Experience managing social media for a brand (not just your personal account) - Comfort with analytics tools and reporting on engagement metrics - Graphic design or short-form video skills (Canva, CapCut, etc.) - Experience with X, TikTok, and Instagram growth strategies - An existing following or presence in the Bitcoin community ### **What You Do NOT Need** - **A marketing degree.** We care about your instincts and your track record, not your transcript. - **Technical skills.** We have a separate team building the automation infrastructure. You are the human side of the operation. - **Agency experience.** If you have grown a community from scratch on your own, that tells us more than three years at a marketing firm. ### **Position Details** - **Hours:** 15 hours/week, flexible but consistent. Social media does not work in bursts. - **Compensation:** Unpaid. Built for students who want real experience at an early-stage company. - **Location:** Fully remote - **Reports to:** Head of Business Development, with CTO and Founder oversight - **Duration:** Ongoing, with a clear path to a paid role as the media arm grows ### **What You Get** You become the voice of multiple Bitcoin brands. Not in a hypothetical, classroom-exercise way. You are the person people interact with when they engage with our accounts. That is a portfolio piece no internship certificate can match. You get embedded in the Bitcoin ecosystem at a level most people cannot access from the outside. Conferences, media figures, builders, organizations. The relationships you form here are yours to keep. You work directly with the people running the company. No layers, no approval chains, no three-week feedback loops. If something needs to go out, you make the call. Every brand you grow and every community you build is measurable. Follower counts, engagement rates, sentiment. You leave with numbers you can point to, not just a title on a resume. If the work is strong and the business keeps growing, we hire from within. We are building a media operation that needs people long term, and we would rather keep someone who already knows our voice than start over. ## About Bitcoin Culture Hub **Bitcoin Culture Hub (BCH)** is the gateway to Bitcoin’s cultural soul, uniting newcomers, creators, collectors, and college students to make Bitcoin discoverable, personal, and unforgettable. Our unified platform bridges Web2 familiarity with Web3 innovation, tackling the 70% churn rate of new crypto users through personalized feeds, gamified quests, and creator tools (e.g., NFT badges, dynamic archetype quizzes). Join us to build the infrastructure powering Bitcoin’s cultural adoption for billions! ## Role Overview As a **Backend Engineer** for an 8-week, semester-long internship (starting February 2026), you’ll help design and build the core backend infrastructure for BCH’s collectibles marketplace from the ground up. You’ll be provided with Lovable mockups and developer support, and you'll develop scalable APIs and Bitcoin-specific functionality to support 10,000 monthly active users, with a focus on reliability, fast transactions, and smooth onboarding. You’ll ship foundational marketplace features needed for future listing, discovery, and user identity flows. Working closely with a Technical Product Manager, you’ll structure APIs and backend architecture to be ready for future React frontend integration. Exceptional performance may lead to a contract extension and future pay. ## Responsibilities - **Backend Development:** - Build scalable RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI) or Node.js (Express.js) to support personalized feeds, gamified quests, and a global marketplace for 10,000 monthly active users. - Develop and optimize databases (e.g., PostgreSQL for user data, MongoDB for creator content) and search systems (e.g., ElasticSearch for feeds) to handle moderate-scale traffic. - Design APIs with future Web2 frontend integration (e.g., React) in mind, ensuring flexibility for an upcoming frontend developer. - **Web3 Integration:** - Implement Bitcoin-specific features, such as an NFT badge system (using Ordinals) and dynamic archetype quiz (with Lightning-powered microtransactions), to drive user engagement. - Learn and apply Web3 technologies (e.g., Bitcoin Dev Kit, Lightning Network) to simplify onboarding and address user pain points like crypto complexity. - **Collaboration & Support:** - Translate technical work into user-friendly outcomes, ensuring Web2 familiarity for newcomers and college students. - **Testing & Documentation:** - Use test-driven development (TDD) to achieve 99.9% platform uptime and <1s transaction latency, prioritizing security and session management. - Document APIs and deployment processes (using Git/GitHub). - **Continuous Learning:** - Research Web3 tools (e.g., Lightning, Ordinals) using resources like Bitcoin Dev Kit, dedicating 10% of time to learning to keep BCH’s platform cutting-edge. ## Qualifications - Mid-level expertise in backend development with Python (FastAPI), Node.js (Express.js), or similar open-source stacks. - Experience with RESTful API development, relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB) databases, and search technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch). - Willingness to learn Web3 technologies (e.g., Bitcoin, Lightning Network, Ordinals); prior Web3 experience is a plus. - Knowledge of web application security, session management, and best practices. - Proficiency with Git/GitHub and agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum). - Bias for action: ability to prototype, test, and deploy features in a 10-week timeframe. - Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. - Passion for Bitcoin’s cultural and technical potential, especially for onboarding newcomers and college students. - Ability to work independently in a lean startup, with readiness to collaborate with a future frontend developer. ## What We Offer - Direct mentorship from UCLA Anderson MBA Graduates, CEO (Serial Entrepreneur) and Product Manager (Ex-Salesforce) with full support to innovate and learn Web3. - Access to open-source tools and cloud infrastructure to build a scalable Web3 platform. - Hands-on experience in a high-growth startup shaping Bitcoin’s cultural narrative. - Collaboration with a global Bitcoin community and a marketing intern to drive user growth. - Potential for a paid contract extension based on performance. - Flexible, remote-friendly work with occasional travel for team syncs or events. ## How to Apply Send your resume, a cover letter explaining your interest in Bitcoin and BCH, and a link to a GitHub project or API you’ve built to **kyle@bitcoinculturehub.com**. **Bonus:** Propose a simple Marketplace design to enhance BCH’s platform. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Join us to power Bitcoin’s cultural future! *When applying, mention the word CANDYSHOP to show you read the job post completely.*
