Funding the Commons

## About Commons Lab **Funding the Commons** is incubating **Commons Lab**, a newly formed venture incubator building at the intersection of AI and coordination infrastructure. This role is for Commons Lab directly and is being shared via Funding the Commons because that's where our network and community live. Commons Lab works with institutional partners including Protocol Labs and UNDP's Alt Fin Lab, and backs founders building the systems that govern how value flows in the intelligent economy: programmable funding, privacy-preserving identity, agent-native coordination, and financial infrastructure for emerging markets. Learn more at [commonslab.ai/stack](https://commonslab.ai/stack). Our founder pipeline flows from Funding the Commons—a 25,000+ person community, 13 conferences across 4 continents, and 3 builder residencies—into intensive post-residency incubation, with follow-on capital for top performers. We're hiring a founding leader to own incubation. This is one of the earliest and highest-leverage seats in the company: a role for someone who can combine technical judgment, founder empathy, operational design, and AI-native execution. **Compensation:** ~$180K base plus significant founding-team equity in Commons Lab. **Location:** SF preferred. International travel required for residencies including Kenya and future locations. ## What You'll Own * **Founder selection:** Build the evaluation frameworks, scoring systems, and workflows that determine who we back. Your AI market judgment should distinguish genuine technical edge from products that will be commoditized by the next model cycle. * **Builder residencies:** Run intensive residencies with partners like UNDP and BNB Chain. Design curriculum, pair builders with mentors, structure sprint reviews, run demo days, and ensure cohorts produce deployable outputs and real pilots. * **Product-market fit:** Help founders move from prototype to product. Scope MVPs, cut unnecessary features, sharpen user value, find pilot partners, and get teams shipping against real timelines. * **The internal operating system:** Build the infrastructure behind incubation — pipeline automation, builder tracking, institutional reporting, knowledge management, and decision workflows. We expect you to build these systems yourself using tools like Claude, Cursor, and modern agent frameworks. ## Who You Are * **Deep AI market expertise.** You track model capabilities, agent architectures, and infrastructure shifts closely. You know what just became possible, what is about to become possible, and what remains genuinely hard. * **AI-native builder.** You use tools like Claude, Cursor, and modern development frameworks to build working systems quickly. * **Founder empathy.** You've been a founder yourself, or worked closely enough with early-stage founders to understand what actually helps. * **Product instinct.** You've helped early-stage teams find product-market fit. You know how to pressure-test scope, user value, sequencing, and speed. * **High trust, high candor.** You can mentor a first-time founder in Nairobi and present to a UNDP programme team in the same week. ## Strongly Preferred * Expertise in programmable funding, privacy/identity, distribution infrastructure, or agent-native coordination. * Blockchain/crypto literacy. * Experience with institutional partners such as UN agencies, foundations, or governments. ## How to Apply Apply at: [https://commonslab.ai/join](https://commonslab.ai/join) *When applying, mention the word CANDYSHOP to show you read the job post completely.*
Lorikeet
## About Us Lorikeet is redefining what customer support looks like — and we're just getting started. We build AI that handles complex, high-volume support for fintechs, healthtechs, marketplaces, and delivery services. Not chatbot-tier AI. The kind that actually resolves tickets, gives support teams their time back, and raises the bar for what software can do. We're backed by over $50M USD from QED, Blackbird, and Square Peg, with backing from operators like Claire Hughes Johnson (ex-Stripe COO) and Cristina Cordova (Linear COO), plus founders of Canva, Atlassian, and Airwallex. We're the first company since Canva to be funded at early stage by all three of Australia's top VC funds — which tells you something about the calibre of people who've looked closely at what we're building and said yes. Our customers include some of the largest telehealth, fintech, and marketplace companies in the US and Australia — many handling over a million support tickets a year. The problems are real, the scale is real, and the work matters. If you want to build something that genuinely changes how businesses and customers interact — this is the place. ## Solutions Architect We're hiring a **Solutions Architect** for our US-based remote team. This is a unique role that will have an immediate impact on Lorikeet’s growth by directly addressing one of our customers’ biggest opportunities to-date: getting Lorikeet trained up and deployed as fast as possible! As a Solutions Architect at Lorikeet, you'll be the bridge between Lorikeet's technology and our clients' success. You'll work directly with customers to understand their needs, implement AI solutions, and ensure they get maximum value from Lorikeet. You’ll serve as an AI expert for our customers, integration expert, and problem solver, forging strong relationships and great outcomes for their customers. This is a unique opportunity to take a technical background or mindset and a curiosity about AI and turn it into a high impact career. Over time, you’re going to break new ground with our customers and help them enable mind-blowing experiences for their end users. The sky is the limit for what you’ll be able to help our customers do, and for the right candidate, that’s the most exciting part. ### What you'll do - Be an AI expert and evangelist for Lorikeet’s customer base - Lead AI implementation projects from kickoff to successful deployment - Build and configure workflows in Lorikeet's AI tools to meet each unique customer’s goals - Understand customers’ businesses and recommend innovative AI solutions beyond typical customer support to achieve their business goals - Work with our product team to represent customer needs, provide feedback, and inform both our short-term and long-term product strategy - Guide customers through technical implementation while building strong relationships - Solve complex integration challenges creatively and efficiently ### The right candidate This role is perfect for someone who is (1) deeply interested in AI, (2) is excited to build technical skills relevant to AI, and (3) is energized by operating at the nexus of the technical implementation of AI and ensuring customer success. We need someone who is technically-minded and excited to dive into the technical aspects of AI, loves building, learning, and tinkering, and most importantly, is hyper-focused on customer impact. As an early team member, you’ll have the agency to identify what needs to be done and take initiative to make it happen. You'll have the opportunity to shape not just individual client implementations, but also our overall approach to customer deployment and success. Our customers and revenue are >50% in the US, but today most of our team and our headquarters is in Sydney, Australia, where we’d love to host you for onboarding. - Have 2-5 years of client-facing experience in management consulting, technical implementation, or similar roles - Have a technical background, training or mindset. This may be a CS or engineering major, experience in math or stats, or a track record of learning and using technical skills (e.g. building with no or low code tools, doing data analysis, etc.). Previous software engineering experience is not required, but is very useful. - Are a strong project leader with a track record of independently leading complex technical solutions (e.g. you are organized, reliable, and extremely high-agency) - Have experience building & managing stakeholder relationships (e.g. you’re very comfortable working with external clients) - Possess strong communication skills (e.g. you can effectively listen on all levels, and have the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders) - Have a solution-oriented mindset (e.g. you love to think creatively to solve problems and “hack” systems to do unexpected things) - Are excited about AI, knowledgeable and already tinkers with it (e.g. you’re a ChatGPT power user, or build AI projects in your spare time) If you don't quite match this and are from an underrepresented background, we strongly encourage you to reach out! We know firsthand that diverse teams are higher performing and are proud that our team reflects a broad spectrum of identities and lived experiences. ## About Lorikeet Lorikeet is the most powerful customer support AI for complex businesses like fintechs, healthtechs, marketplaces and delivery services. We're doing this by building ground up from the premise that most support responses should be automated with transparent, customizable AI, and that support teams should spend their time managing automation and engaging with complex cases, not grinding through high volumes of simple tickets. Once teams are freed from reactive support, we want to help them tackle what's next: providing personalized concierge services to their customers. To deliver this combination of powerful AI systems and well designed tooling we're leveraging Jamie's experience as an early member of Google's generative AI team and Steve's experience building for operational teams at Stripe, as well as the experience of our team who've joined us from places like Stripe, Canva, Atlassian, Dropbox and Dovetail. We are growing fast, have paying customers, real revenue, an exciting roadmap and a strong sales pipeline. We've raised over USD $50M from leading VCs and angel investors, including QED, Blackbird, Square Peg, Claire Hughes Johnson (ex-Stripe COO), Cristina Cordova (Linear COO), Bob Van Winden (Stripe Head of Support), and Cos Nicolaescu (Brex CTO). ### Our Global Customers Include - The largest telehealth company in Australia - The largest bank for teens in the US - One of the largest NFT marketplaces by trading volume - The leading virtual specialty-care platform in the US - One of the largest flexible rent-payment platforms in the US - One of the largest Web3 gaming companies … and a handful of other enterprise customers with over 1 million support tickets a year. ### What's Unique About This Opportunity **Warm, mature, flexible culture.** Low ego, high trust team. No tolerance for 'talented jerks'. We embrace a) working efficiently, and b) working flexible hours to fit in life priorities outside of work. We're committed to building a diverse team and really encourage folks from underrepresented backgrounds to reach out — we value user obsession and eagerness to learn over traditional credentials. **High pay, high expectations, high performance.** We aim to match unicorn / scale-up compensation for high performers.

## Company Description **About OleOle** OleOle is building the world’s first decentralized football super app — a unified platform that brings together social media, messaging, real-time scores, live video, gambling, e-commerce, and crypto rewards. We’re building something truly unprecedented — a next-generation **social network and messaging platform** designed exclusively for the world’s 3+ billion football fans. Think Twitter, WhatsApp, and TikTok fused into one global superapp — built natively using **Rust**, **Blockchain**, and **AI/ML**. Our vision is bold. We’re not just creating another app — we’re creating the **platform**. A decentralized, multilingual football community powered by real-time translation for Twitter->200 languages. But this isn't just social. We're monetizing through **crypto-native gambling**, building our own **NFT marketplace** focused on matchday imagery, and developing a **low-fee crypto exchange** we believe we can acquire and relaunch for almost nothing. With 4,000+ exchanges out there and fewer than 15 expected to survive, we see a clear consolidation opportunity. At the center of this entire ecosystem is our upcoming **crypto token, OleX** — a high-utility token powering transactions, rewards, gambling, and viral platform growth. We're looking for a **hands-on technical leader** to help architect this future, someone who knows Rust cold, understands blockchain inside and out, and has experience launching or scaling token-based platforms. Prior **ICO** experience is a big plus. This is not a CTO title in name only. You’ll be **leading from the front**, building the core architecture alongside a lean but growing team, helping us bring our decentralized football superapp to life. If you're looking to shape the future of social, crypto, and sport — this is it. ## Job Description **If you don’t bother reading the job description please do not apply!** Are you a CTO, **with startup experience?** **The Role** We’re seeking a **hands-on CTO**, and possibly a **co-founder**, who can own the core technology strategy of OleOle and lead its execution from day one. You will define and build the platform's architecture, oversee engineering direction, and help shape the company’s long-term roadmap. You won’t be managing a large team yet — you’ll be rolling up your sleeves and building alongside the founding team, with equity compensation during the pre-funding phase and a full-time paid position after funding. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and lead development of the native Rust backend, including APIs, microservices, and system architecture. - Integrate and manage real-time messaging infrastructure using WebSockets and event-driven services. - Oversee the Solana-based OleX token, including smart contract development, wallet logic, and payments architecture. - Build the backend framework for AI-powered features, including translation, recommendation engines, and user content analysis. - Ensure security, scalability, and performance across all systems, especially in crypto and gambling environments. - Partner with the CEO and broader team to align technical goals with the company’s global vision. ## Qualifications **Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – Hands-On, Startup Leader Needed** **Company:** OleOle **Location:** Remote (Global) **Compensation:** Deferred until funding closes **About Us:** OleOle is building the **world’s first social networking and messaging platform for football fans**, integrating features similar to **WeChat, Twitter, WhatsApp, and TikTok**. We are seeking a **hands-on, technical, and strategic CTO** who has **built and scaled startups**. You will **lead, mentor, and coach** a **young, global, remote engineering team** operating on **deferred compensation** until we close funding. **Who You Are:** ✅ **A proven startup leader** – You have **7-10+ years as a CTO** and have **led engineering teams at early-stage startups**. ✅ **A technical expert** – Strong background in **Rust** and is an active coder. ✅ **A team coach & mentor** – You can **motivate and develop junior engineers**. ✅ **Experienced in remote teams** – You have led **distributed teams across multiple time zones**. ✅ **Willing to work for deferred compensation** – Until funding closes, the team is working on a **sweat equity model**. ✅ **Ideally has access to capital** – While not required, a CTO with investor connections would be a **huge plus**. **What You’ll Do:** - Lead & build our Rust-native platform from the ground up. - Mentor & develop a young engineering team working for deferred compensation. - Ensure scalability, security, and performance of our architecture. - Work hands-on with the codebase, setting up best practices. - Coordinate development timelines for Phase 1 (7–8 months) and Phase 2 (9–10 months). - Align with our vision to build the world's largest sports social platform. **Why Join Us?** **Game-Changing Vision** – OleOle is building the **world’s first super app for sports**. **Equity & Upside** – Deferred now, but **big rewards as funding closes**. ⚡ **Startup Culture** – Be a founding leader in a fast-moving, **high-impact environment**. **Global Reach** – Work with a team of **top engineers worldwide**. **How to Apply:** If you're **a hands-on, startup-seasoned CTO** who thrives in a **high-risk, high-reward** environment, we want to hear from you. ## Additional Information Of course it’s hard and others won’t want to do the hard stuff. - Creative problem solver who can courageously propose and support new ideas to our organization. Not interested in best practices, lets build something better! - Ability to adapt. An ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to solve a broad range of problems using a wide array of technologies. - Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities and general growing pains of an early-stage technology company. - An exceptional entrepreneurial judgment that fosters independence over micro-management. You've been the one who held it together. You're energized by complexity, not paralyzed by it. You can sit in a technical discovery session, understand what's actually being built, and turn it into a commercial narrative that makes a VP of Data Engineering and a CFO both lean in. You build relationships that outlast any single deal. You write things people forward to their colleagues. You're not looking for a playbook. You're looking for the chance to write one. ## About edisyl edisyl builds AI solutions that turn messy institutional data into decisions, workflows, and outcomes. We came out of blockchain data infrastructure - 8 years, 20+ chains, 700M+ resolved wallets - and now deploy that capability to enterprises navigating the same challenge: how to make their data work for them at scale, without armies of analysts. We have active deployments with Fidelity and Interlochen, a proven architecture, and inbound from firms that need what we've built. The technology works. What we're building now is the enterprise motion around it. ## The Role We're looking for someone to work directly with the CEO to build enterprise relationships and close deals. This is not a quota-carrying AE role. It's closer to a founding GTM partner - someone with high EQ, creative deal instincts, and the ability to navigate complex organizations and build trust at multiple levels. ## What You'll Actually Do ### Work the enterprise deal cycle alongside the CEO - Own the mechanics: discovery prep, proposal drafting, SOW structuring, contract navigation, procurement sequencing - Help shape positioning for each account - this is consultative selling, not product selling - Keep deals moving; know where each opportunity stands and what it needs next ### Translate between our engineering team and the business - You don't need to write code, but you need to hold your own in a conversation about data pipelines, AI agents, and cloud infrastructure - Sit in technical discovery sessions; understand what our solutions actually do, then help package it into commercial proposals and SOWs that make sense - Work with our CTO and data science leads to scope what's deliverable, at what margin, on what timeline ### Build the playbook as we go - Develop repeatable engagement models - from POC to expansion SOW to subscription - that we can run across multiple accounts simultaneously - Think in deal economics: services vs. software mix, margin targets, expansion triggers, long-term account value - Build templates and frameworks so that enterprise sales becomes a system, not a series of heroic one-offs ### Own your relationships - The CEO opens doors; you build the ongoing relationships with champions, technical evaluators, and procurement contacts - Represent edisyl at industry events and in direct outreach - cold outreach to senior technical leaders at large enterprises should feel natural to you - Manage the rhythm of communication so the CEO's time is preserved for highest-leverage moments ## What Success Looks Like in Year One By the end of year one, you've closed two to three enterprise deals, each with a named champion you cultivated - not inherited. You've documented a playbook someone else could follow, and you've built a pipeline that reflects real relationships, not just names in a CRM. The measure isn't just revenue - it's whether the enterprise motion is a real, repeatable thing that exists because you built it. You'll know you're winning when the deals you're running have genuine momentum behind them, the champions in your accounts are calling you, and the CEO stops having to carry the deal mechanics and shows up only at the moments that need them. ## Compensation Competitive base salary, meaningful early-stage equity, and a variable component tied directly to the deals you close. Equity is real and early - this is a founding role and we price it that way. Variable is tied to deal outcomes you directly influence. We'll be transparent about the full picture in our first conversation. ## Who We're Looking For ### Experience - 4–8 years in a role that combined enterprise selling with technical understanding: enterprise sales at a data or AI company, solutions engineering, technical account management, or consulting with a hard pivot into tech - You've been close to six-figure-plus deals; you know what MSAs, SOWs, security reviews, and multi-stakeholder approval chains actually look like - You understand data and AI well enough to talk intelligently about pipelines, models, agents, and infrastructure - not to build them, but to sell them credibly and shape how they're deployed ## The Stuff That's Harder to Teach - **High EQ.** You read rooms, adjust your register, and build trust with skeptics. You know the difference between a champion and a blocker and how to work with both. - **Creative deal instinct.** When you hear a problem, you think about how to shape an engagement around it - not just match it to a pricelist. - **Written clarity.** Proposals, SOWs, deal memos. You write things people actually read. - **Organized without being reminded.** You build systems for tracking and follow-up. Deals don't fall through cracks. - **Low ego, high agency.** This role is whatever the deal needs it to be on any given day. You're comfortable with that. - **AI-native.** You stay close to how these tools are evolving and you use them. ## Bonus (Genuinely Not Required) - Background at Palantir, Databricks, Snowflake, or another company running a forward-deployed or consultative sales model - Management consulting with a move into enterprise tech - Experience working directly with a CEO or founder in a small-company environment - Familiarity with blockchain data, DeFi, or institutional crypto ## Why This, Why Now edisyl is at the moment where the technology is proven and the enterprise market is ready. We have active deployments, a real architecture, and inbound from firms that need what we've built. The person who takes this role will help build the enterprise motion from the ground up, working directly with a CEO who has done this for 30 years. That's a rare place to learn and a real chance to have outsized impact. ## To Apply
